Primary Care Physician – South Bay/Torrance – Optum

Optum is seeking dedicated Full-Time or Part-Time Primary Care Physicians to join our team. As part of Optum, the largest network of medical groups in the country, you will help transform healthcare nationally while delivering physician-led care locally. Our practice model emphasizes quality over quantity, allowing you to provide comprehensive care that addresses the physical, mental, and social well-being of every patient.

In this outpatient-only role, clinicians typically care for 18 to 20 patients per day, with scheduled weekly administrative time and approximately 40 minutes allocated for new patient visits and 20 minutes for follow-ups. Standard office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no required nights, weekends, or on-call duties, though optional urgent care shifts are available for additional pay. You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team and rely on dedicated support staff to help you practice at the full scope of your license.

We are looking for professionals who align with our values of patient and physician well-being. Required qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.), or M.B.B.S degree, board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine, and an active, unrestricted medical license and DEA license (or the ability to obtain them prior to employment). Preferred qualifications include one or more years of experience in a managed care setting, bilingual Spanish proficiency, and the role is also open to new graduates.

The total cash compensation at target for California residents ranges from $237,361 to $331,688, with the exact base and bonus mix varying based on experience, education, and metric achievement. Additional highlights include:
