Optum is seeking a dedicated and qualified Primary Care Physician to join our growing team. As a Primary Care Physician with us, you will enjoy a manageable daily patient volume designed to emphasize quality over quantity, allowing you ample time for comprehensive appointments and patient engagement. You will work within a collaborative, team-based environment supported by advanced practice registered nurses, registered nurses, and dedicated quality improvement teams. Your core responsibilities will include providing exceptional primary care services, participating in robust transitional care and high-risk outreach programs, and maintaining a strong focus on clinical quality measures and diagnostic accuracy.
We are proud to offer a schedule that promotes a healthy work-life balance, featuring a 4.5-day work week with early Friday departures and no overnight call responsibilities. Compensation for this role generally ranges from $226,000 to $366,000, which includes a competitive guaranteed salary, a $30,000 sign-on bonus, and up to a 20% annual bonus based on quality care metrics. Additional comprehensive benefits include 36 days off annually covering PTO, CME, and holidays; medical, dental, and vision coverage; short-term and long-term disability; a CME allowance; malpractice insurance with tail coverage; and retirement plans featuring employer-funded contributions and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license
- Valid DEA and CDS licenses, or the ability to obtain them prior to start
- Preferred qualifications include a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and one or more years of clinical experience in adult, family, or geriatric care
