DoorDash is looking for an Application Engineering Manager to join the Go-To-Market Technology (GTMT) Marketplace team in Toronto, Canada. In this role, you will build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for driving the growth and productivity of DoorDash go-to-market teams. You will collaborate closely with product managers and business leaders to design, implement, and scale critical enterprise solutions that support our merchants, customers, and internal operations.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Building, leading, and developing a high-performing, multi-skilled engineering team from the ground up, including hiring, coaching, and supporting career growth.
- Guiding the technical design and architecture of go-to-market systems across Salesforce, Mulesoft, and home-grown first-party technologies.
- Partnering with product managers and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with GTM strategy, operational needs, and long-term business goals.
- Managing planning, capacity, and development schedules across multiple concurrent initiatives while upholding agile delivery methodologies.
- Defining and maintaining robust development processes focused on change management, quality assurance, observability, and the software development lifecycle.
- Establishing technical best practices, documentation, and operational playbooks to drive efficiency, reliability, and scalability across core sales processes and integrations.
We are looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications and experience:
- 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise solutions across modern business platforms such as Salesforce, Mulesoft, and proprietary technologies.
- 4+ years of experience leading agile and Scrum teams in the capacity of an Engineering Manager, Application Engineering Manager, or Technical Team Lead.
- 2+ years of experience managing a globally distributed engineering or business systems team that supports multiple regions.
- Deep understanding of designing and building scalable, maintainable solutions utilizing both configuration and code across enterprise platforms, including experience with core sales processes and quote-to-cash.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical decisions and features into clear business outcomes for diverse audiences.
- A BA, BS, or Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or another relevant field.
DoorDash offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you can make an immediate impact on our growing platform. The base pay range for this position is $180,000 to $225,000 CAD, with actual compensation determined by factors such as skills, prior experience, and location.
