Interim HealthCare of NEPA is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Based Home Care Aide (HCA) to provide 1:1 care for a pediatric client in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will support a student by attending school with them and assisting during home time when school is not in session, including half days, holidays, snow days, and summertime.
As a School Based Home Care Aide, you will serve as a vital member of the care team, delivering hands-on personal care, performing simple procedures as delegated, and helping with activities of daily living. Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending school alongside the pediatric client with special needs, maintaining a safe environment at all times.
- Riding transportation with the client to and from school and potentially traveling between home and school settings.
- Reporting any incidents or changes in the client’s condition to the classroom teacher and the designated home care supervisor.
- Following the established care plan, maintaining accurate documentation according to Pennsylvania state laws, and adhering strictly to HIPAA standards.
- Providing quality, attentive care to ensure the well-being and safety of the student throughout the day.
Position details and compensation:
- Pay rate of up to $16 per hour, supplemented by $50 quarterly bonuses ($200 annually).
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, starting at 7:45 am and ending at 5:00 pm.
- Location: Tunkhannock, PA.

Minimum requirements to apply:
- Must hold a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must possess at least one year of experience working with pediatrics.
- Must possess at least one year of experience working with special needs, specifically including Down syndrome and/or autism.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
- Must be willing to successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, which may include drug screening, criminal background checks, fingerprinting, child abuse history clearances, and a physical exam.
