4.5 Day Week, No Call – Primary Care Physician – Baton Rouge, LA

Optum is seeking a dedicated and qualified Primary Care Physician to join our growing team in Peoria, IL, through Primary Care Plus (PCPlus), a value-based care delivery organization. Our mission is to provide a path of well-being for our patients through high-quality, cost-effective, and coordinated care that delivers superior outcomes and patient satisfaction. In this physician-led, team-based environment, you will work alongside APRNs, RNs, and a dedicated Quality Improvement team to focus on meaningful patient care rather than high-volume scheduling.

As a Primary Care Physician with our organization, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing comprehensive, high-quality primary care services focused on value-based outcomes.
• Seeing between 10 to 16 patients per day with generous appointment windows of 30 to 60 minutes.
• Utilizing your clinical autonomy to practice at the top of your license.
• Engaging with robust transitional care and high-risk outreach programs.
• Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary support team to monitor quality measures, diagnostic accuracy, and hospitalization rates.

We are proud to offer a balanced schedule that features a 4.5-day work week, early Friday departures, and no overnight call duties, supporting a healthy work-life integration.

To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following required qualifications:

• Possession of an M.D. or D.O. degree.
• An active, unrestricted medical license (or the ability to obtain).
• Valid DEA and CDS licenses, or the ability to obtain them.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

Preferred qualifications that will help you succeed in this role include holding a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and having one or more years of clinical experience practicing in adult, family, or geriatric care environments.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $226,000 to $366,000, which includes a competitive guaranteed base salary and up to a 20% annual bonus based on quality care metrics, along with a sign-on bonus. Total cash compensation is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, and work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance.
