Sr. Associate, Systems Integration / Test Engineer

L3 Harris is actively seeking a direct hire opportunity for a Specialist, Systems Integration / Test Engineer to join our facility in Waco, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for performing systems engineering test tasks associated with aircraft modernization, maintenance, and new aircraft systems integration and testing across multiple assigned platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing the development and execution of software quality methods and processes, ensuring continuous improvement to software quality assurance standards.
• Supporting the development effort required to integrate Avionics, Communications, and Mission systems, including authoring test procedures and performing System Operation and Verification Tests (SOVT).
• Utilizing common and advanced test equipment, such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power meters, and network analyzers, along with test-related software.
• Reading and interpreting block diagrams, wire diagrams, and circuit schematics to isolate component malfunctions, and checking, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems for conformance to specifications.
• Performing repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary, occasionally working in confined spaces.
• Interfacing effectively with other disciplines, customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders while presenting technical information clearly and maintaining the highest ethical standards.
• Supporting future business pursuits involving avionics systems development and integration for military applications.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within the U.S. but potentially including OCONUS.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Educational and experience requirements include a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years of aircraft systems test engineering experience; or a Graduate degree with 0 years of experience; or a High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of aircraft systems test engineering experience.
• Must possess a current DoD Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Must have functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Must be able to obtain an FAA 3rd class medical certificate and be willing to fly on platforms under test.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds individually, or utilize a lifting team for heavier loads, and participate in ingress and egress evaluations for emergency aircraft evacuation procedures.
• Preferred additional skills include holding an A&P and/or FCC license, along with strong communication, teamwork, and troubleshooting abilities.
