L3Harris is seeking a Lead, Systems Engineer (Optical Systems Program Lead) to join our Space Superiority group in Wilmington, MA. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting our AgileEO programs, which specialize in space-based, small aperture visible and IR telescopes with integrated electromechanical devices.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing system tasking activities, balancing priorities to meet project objectives, and contributing to Program Management Reviews (QPMR/PMR/MOR).
- Managing risk management processes, maintaining the Risk Register, and overseeing Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 requirements sell-off and End Item Data Packages (EIDP).
- Providing feedback for the release of Level 2 drawings, overseeing the release of Level 3 drawings, and managing the development and release of Level 3 specifications and SOW.
- Ensuring overall qualification processes meet required standards, participating in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEM), and serving on Engineering Review Boards (ERB).
- Providing input on Proposals, Basis of Estimates (BOE), and assisting in resolving Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
- Providing training, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or another related scientific discipline with a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience (or a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree).
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Professional experience with electro-optical design, electronics, sensors, detectors, imaging systems, and system integration processes within a space environment.
- Preferred additional skills include active Top Secret/SCI clearance, experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), and familiarity with MBSE tools, NASA standards, and proposal development.
