As an Occupational Therapist in Home Health, you will be responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments, adaptive equipment, and other occupational therapy needs as defined by medical conditions.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing service within the scope of practice as defined by state laws governing Occupational Therapy, in accordance with the plan of care, using evidence-based techniques, and in coordination with other healthcare team members.
- Evaluating the patient’s functional status, status of all body systems as required for CMS documentation, and occupational therapy needs while consulting with the physician to develop the therapy plan of care.
- Observing, recording, and reporting the patient’s response to treatment and any changes in their condition to the nurse supervisor and physician.
- Conducting patient assessments to evaluate functional levels by applying diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests.
Required qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or reliable public transportation.
- Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
Pay is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. The hourly pay for this role ranges from $34.23 to $61.15 per hour based on full-time employment.
