We are seeking a Lead, Systems Engineer to join our team as a senior professional with strong technical knowledge and broad project management capabilities. In this role, you will be proficient in the systems engineering process, bring direct experience in designing and testing complex systems, and feel comfortable coordinating and leading teams of technical personnel. You will work to achieve operational targets that directly impact departmental results, solving problems through creative solutions and in-depth analysis.
Our Range and Test Solutions business area is responsible for sustaining and upgrading flight test instrumentation, including Underwater Acoustics, Telemetry, Communications, Data Recording systems, and/or Radar.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting digital engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Generating requirements specifications, functional block diagrams, and use-case diagrams.
- Planning integration and testing, including the creation of plans and procedures.
- Interfacing with mechanical, project, and other engineering disciplines to ensure proper coordination of system aspects.
- Generating and updating drawings, parts lists, Engineering Orders, wiring lists, diagrams, and schematics.
- Creating Engineering Change Orders and preparing and presenting design review materials.
- Verifying system interfaces and communicating with internal and external parties such as customers and vendors when necessary.
- Traveling as required and influencing others to accept team views, practices, and process changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience is required.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- At least 5 years of direct engineering experience.
- Direct experience working with at least one of the following technologies: Underwater Acoustics, Telemetry, Communications, Data Recording systems, and/or Radar.
- Preferred skills include strong written and oral communication, initiative, drive, interpersonal skills, familiarity with DOORS requirements management software and MBSE, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas is $127,500.00 to $236,500.00. The salary range for Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $110,500.00 to $205,500.00. Final offer amounts may vary based on factors including experience and geographic location.
