Uber is seeking a General Manager to lead the strategy, growth, and P&L of the Uber Eats business across Norway. In this high-impact role, you will set the vision, define the local strategy, build and lead the local team, and act as the primary face of Uber Eats to the media, government, and key partners throughout the country. You will partner closely with regional leadership to advocate for the market and leverage global resources for local success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking full responsibility for the financial health of Uber Eats, including forecasting and driving key business levers such as revenue, margin, and gross bookings to achieve sustainable, profitable growth.
- Driving competitive advantage through country-level strategy, including expansion into new cities or product verticals like grocery and retail in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Designing resilient, iterative operational systems that balance long-term goals with agility, focusing heavily on continuous improvement and customer experience.
- Implementing high-priority cross-functional projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing delivery times, enhancing reliability, preventing fraud, and supporting membership programs.
- Hiring, mentoring, and leading a high-performing local team while fostering a culture of accountability, data-centric decision-making, and rapid execution.
- Serving as the primary external representative for Uber Eats, proactively engaging with top restaurant groups, strategic retail partners, policymakers, regulatory bodies, and media outlets.
- Working directly with Policy and Communications teams to manage local narratives, address regulatory challenges, and ensure compliant, sustainable operations.
Applicants should meet the following requirements and qualifications:
- Bring 10+ years of professional experience in high-growth operations, general management, management consulting, or a similar strategic role.
- Demonstrate direct experience working with a P&L, including revenue, margin, forecasting, and budgeting, with a proven track record of driving improvements for profitable growth.
- Possess leadership experience managing and developing high-performing, diverse teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Show experience defining and executing country-level strategies, such as launching new product verticals or expanding into new geographic territories.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills with experience acting as a primary representative to external partners like enterprise-level clients, regulators, and the media.
- Display a demonstrated ability to build and scale processes with a focus on data-centric decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Previous direct P&L accountability, background in on-demand logistics, delivery, or multi-sided marketplaces, and familiarity with the local consumer market and regulatory landscape are preferred.
Offices remain central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity.
