About the Role: The Account Manager role is an exciting opportunity to showcase your relationship management, sales, and strategic account growth skills. This position focuses on post-sales engagement with small-to-medium-sized businesses, including restaurants and other local merchants. As an Account Manager, you will play a critical role in retaining and growing your portfolio, ensuring that partners are set up for success, and identifying opportunities for expansion and increased revenue. Your ability to consult, strategize, and drive long-term value will be key to making Uber Eats the preferred platform for our partners.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with a high-value portfolio of restaurant partners to retain and grow a book of business of SMB accounts on the Uber Eats platform.
- Establish and proactively maintain communication channels with merchant partners via email, phone, and face-to-face meetings.
- Identify new sales opportunities through product adoption, location expansion, and upselling merchants on marketing products such as ads and promotions.
- Build processes and standardize best-practices within merchant success and your assigned territory.
- Identify key risks to partnerships, working quickly and diligently to ensure the best possible experience for partners and to support account retention.
- Partner with Operations and Sellers on managing relationships, issues, and merchant questions.
- Track merchant KPIs and OKRs to understand success, issues, or opportunities and conduct regular business reviews.
- Excel in hands-on vendor management and training of new merchant features or products.
- Act as an ambassador of Uber Eats’ mission, brand, and product, ensuring partners understand and leverage the platform’s full potential.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, operations, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Data proficiency, including the ability to translate commercial data into digestible formats for merchant partners using charts, graphs, and other visuals.
- Experience navigating the customer lifecycle, from prospecting new contacts to driving upsell opportunities within an existing client organization.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly frame a value proposition, probe for objections, and remove barriers to gain commitment.
- Willingness to hustle and work closely with high-value partners to hit quarterly and annual revenue, retention, and adoption targets.
- Ability to think strategically and analyze restaurant needs to unlock opportunities and creatively problem-solve.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize based on impact.
- Excellent communication skills and familiarity with Google Suite.
Compensation and Benefits for San Francisco, CA-Based Roles:
- Total annualized on-target earnings (OTE): USD $99,000 – $110,000.
- Base salary range: USD $69,500 to USD $77,000 per year.
- Eligibility to participate in company bonus programs, sales bonuses, and other types of compensation.
- Full-time employee eligibility for a 401(k) plan and various other benefits detailed on the Uber benefits page.
