We are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst II (Intermediate) for our Property and Casualty (P&C) Personal Lines teams, focusing on pricing, indications, and forecasting. This position is part of a flexible work environment requiring an individual to be in the office four days per week, and can be based in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance and active-duty military spouse remote or hybrid flexibility are available where applicable.
As an experienced actuarial analyst, you will independently apply actuarial methodologies to complete structured projects, serve as a technical subject matter expert, and support process improvements. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Applying actuarial methodologies to build tools, test and implement rating algorithm variables, and support analysis.
- Identifying and executing process improvements utilizing actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques.
- Proactively resolving technical issues, troubleshooting, and creating instructions and training materials for actuarial tools.
- Mentoring new team members and providing actionable insights to solve business problems.
- Communicating technical insights effectively to both actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Ensuring all business activities comply with internal risk management and compliance policies.
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree, or four years of related actuarial, business, or analytical experience in lieu of a degree.
- Two years of actuarial or analytical business experience.
- Three Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams completed.
- Experience with relevant actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques.
- Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, and developing queries or procedures in Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools, or similar software.
Preferred qualifications that set candidates apart include P&C Personal Lines pricing experience, familiarity with pricing software such as Earnix, strong proficiency in Excel and programming languages, and US military experience or military spouse/domestic partner status.
The salary range for this position is $77,120 to $138,810, determined based on experience, market data, and location. Employees may also be eligible for performance-based pay incentives.
