As a Portfolio Manager III, you will be responsible for working with complex, high-net-worth investors to create customized investment strategies. In this role, you will evaluate, design, construct, manage, and monitor all aspects of discretionary portfolio management, including asset allocation, portfolio construction, security and manager selection, trade execution, risk management, compliance, regular investment reviews, and proactive client communication. You will also help drive client retention, support business development efforts, and mentor associates.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with clients to understand their financial situations and circumstances in order to develop and recommend tailored investment strategies aligned with their unique goals.
- Managing all aspects of client investment portfolios, including asset allocation, trade execution, risk management, compliance, and ongoing performance reviews.
- Collaborating with teammates to deliver the bank’s full array of integrated financial solutions, such as equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and Specialty Asset Management.
- Engaging regularly with clients to review investment performance, discuss anticipated market changes, and maintain meaningful relationships built on the highest standards of care, skill, diligence, and ethics.
- Staying up-to-date on Chief Investment Office recommendations, current market conditions, and economic trends to anticipate and mitigate investment risks.
Required qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of investment decision-making and financial consulting experience working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
- A history of holding positions of increasing responsibility within an established and prestigious financial services firm, specifically in wealth management, private banking, and/or trust fields.
- Extensive related work experience providing deep knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services, fiduciary standards, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Broad-based technical knowledge covering investments, tax, legal, and operational areas necessary to effectively service sophisticated clients.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in negotiating, delegating, leadership, and superior client relationship management.
- High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent minimum education requirement.
Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent business experience), a Graduate Degree such as an MBA or JD, and relevant professional credentials such as a CPA, CFP, and/or CFA designation. This is a full-time, 1st shift opportunity scheduled for 40 hours per week in the United States.
