Key responsibilities typically associated with this position include:
- Evaluating patient communication and swallowing abilities through standard diagnostic procedures and clinical observations.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific rehabilitation goals.
- Providing direct speech-language pathology treatment and monitoring ongoing patient progress.
- Collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educating patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing safety techniques, and home exercise programs.
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
