The Queensland Department of Education is seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional for the Director – Capability – North Coast position, based in the Maroochydore area (Highworth / Nambour region). This is an exciting leadership opportunity to join the Education Futures Institute (EFI), a key system initiative designed to empower staff, educators, and the broader education system.

As the Director – Capability, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the region, driving capability development and supporting strategic education initiatives. In this senior position, you will collaborate closely with regional stakeholders, educational leaders, and departmental teams to foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and high performance.

Key responsibilities typically associated with this leadership role include:

Leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of capability-building strategies aligned with the goals of the Education Futures Institute and the Department of Education.
Partnering with regional leadership teams to identify professional development needs and deliver targeted capability programs for staff and educators.
Managing stakeholder relationships across the North Coast region to ensure cohesive delivery of system-wide initiatives.
Providing strategic advice and guidance on educational leadership, workforce capability, and change management practices.
Overseeing project delivery, resource allocation, and reporting to ensure strategic outcomes are met efficiently and effectively.

To be successful in this senior role, applicants should demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, extensive experience within an educational or large-scale corporate environment, and a proven track record in driving strategic capability initiatives. A deep understanding of the Queensland education sector and system-level reform will be highly advantageous.
