Port Shorts Inc, the coolest short film festival in the tropics, is seeking a talented Sponsorship & Event Co-ordinator to join our team on a part-time contract basis. Based around Manoora, Cairns, this exciting role plays a key part in helping to enhance our national short film festival, which will be held in Port Douglas on 24 October 2026. This is a temporary contract position offering a minimum of 12 hours per week at a competitive rate of $40 per hour, running through until 1 November 2026.
In this role, you will work closely with our experienced and skilled team of Port Shorts organisers to support the planning, promotion, and execution of the festival. We are looking for someone who can bring strong organizational skills, professional communication, and creative energy to secure and manage sponsorships while assisting with event logistics.
Key responsibilities for the Sponsorship & Event Co-ordinator include:
- Identifying, securing, and managing festival sponsorships and partnerships
- Collaborating with the organizing team to plan and execute event logistics
- Communicating professionally with sponsors, stakeholders, filmmakers, and vendors
- Assisting with general event coordination tasks leading up to and during the festival
- Representing Port Shorts Inc in a professional and engaging manner
