Lithgow City Council is currently seeking a strategic and experienced professional to join the team as an Economic Development Manager. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a dynamic and evolving regional economy within the Seven Valleys area.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving initiatives that foster sustainable economic growth, encourage investment attraction, and oversee destination and event development. You will work closely with internal teams, local businesses, and community stakeholders to implement strategies that enhance the region’s economic viability and profile.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Developing and executing economic development strategies aligned with Council objectives
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for business attraction, retention, and expansion
- Collaborating with industry partners to promote tourism, destination marketing, and local events
- Managing economic development projects from conception to completion
- Providing expert advice to leadership regarding local economic trends and opportunities
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess a strong background in economic development, local government, business management, or a related field. Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential for navigating this multifaceted role.
