Westpac is currently seeking an ambitious professional to join their team as an FX Sales & Execution – Associate or Senior Associate. Based in the vibrant precinct of The Rocks in Sydney, this opportunity sits within the Financial Markets (FM) division, specifically within the Institutional & Corporate Group (ICG) – Australia business unit. The position reports directly to the Executive Director and Head of ICG FX & Commodities Sales.
In this role, you will act as a key support member of the ICG FX Sales & Execution team, contributing to the daily operations, client servicing, and trade execution processes within the institutional and corporate foreign exchange markets. This is a junior to mid-level seniority opportunity, making it well-suited for motivated individuals looking to advance their career in financial markets with a major banking institution.
Typical responsibilities for this position involve:
- Assisting senior sales team members with daily FX sales and execution workflows
- Supporting institutional and corporate client relationships by handling inquiries and facilitating transactions
- Collaborating closely with internal trading desks, operations, and middle-office teams to ensure smooth trade processing
- Preparing market commentary, research summaries, and client presentation materials
- Monitoring market movements, liquidity, and economic data relevant to foreign exchange and commodities
- Ensuring all activities comply with internal risk frameworks, compliance policies, and regulatory standards
