Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Developing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s specific rehabilitation goals and medical history.
- Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educating patients, families, and caregivers on strategies and exercises to support ongoing progress outside of formal therapy sessions.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge summaries.
