Ascension is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Medical Surgical ICU team at Columbia St. Mary’s Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time, night shift opportunity offering a salary of $122,773 per year, situated in the Shorewood and Milwaukee County area.
As a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg ICU, you will play a critical role in delivering patient-centered, high-acuity care to individuals requiring close monitoring and complex clinical interventions. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess patient conditions, administer treatments, monitor vital signs, and provide continuous support to patients and their families during critical moments of their healthcare journeys.
Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans in a high-acuity ICU environment.
- Monitoring hemodynamic status, managing advanced medical equipment, and administering medications safely.
- Collaborating closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Maintaining accurate and timely electronic health records of patient progress, treatments, and responses to interventions.
- Educating patients and their families on care plans, recovery processes, and post-discharge expectations with empathy and clarity.
- Adhering strictly to hospital policies, nursing standards, and safety regulations to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.
