AirSWIFT is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a part-time opportunity based in Perth CBD. In this role, you will act as a key technical leader, delivering innovative mechanical engineering solutions for major studies and capital projects within the mining, bulk materials handling, minerals processing, and heavy industrial sectors.
Working closely with our global metal mining client, you will help support project development across various phases, ranging from initial concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design and implementation. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to apply their technical expertise in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing technical leadership and guidance on mechanical engineering design for major mining and industrial projects.
- Developing mechanical engineering solutions for bulk materials handling and minerals processing facilities.
- Supporting project development through concept design, feasibility studies, and subsequent project stages.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure technical objectives are met safely and efficiently.
- Reviewing engineering deliverables, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and project requirements.
- Resolving complex technical challenges and providing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess a strong background in mechanical engineering design within the mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial sectors. Proven experience in a senior or leadership capacity, guiding projects from concept through feasibility and design phases, is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a part-time schedule are also required.
