We are currently seeking an Airworthiness Engineer to join BAE Systems. This position is primarily based in the Frimley and Camberley area, with a starting salary of £36,897 per year. Please note that upon commencement, this role will be immediately assigned to our Edgewing Joint Venture in the Reading area.
Due to the nature of this assignment, we envisage there will be a need for mostly on-site working, though flexible working arrangements may be considered in line with business requirements. Additionally, a financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met.
As an Airworthiness Engineer, you will play a key role within our engineering and project teams. Your responsibilities will naturally align with industry standards for airworthiness management, regulatory compliance, and safety documentation within the aerospace and defense sector.
Key responsibilities typically include:
- Ensuring that engineering and project activities comply with relevant military and civil airworthiness regulations.
- Assisting in the preparation, review, and maintenance of safety cases, airworthiness documentation, and compliance records.
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, technical authorities, and joint venture partners to resolve airworthiness issues.
- Supporting design reviews, safety assessments, and configuration management processes.
- Providing technical guidance and advice on airworthiness and safety matters to internal stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, candidates should bring a strong background in engineering, aviation, or a closely related technical field, along with a solid understanding of airworthiness processes and regulatory frameworks. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for collaborating effectively across our sites and with our joint venture partners.
