Kier Group is currently seeking a dedicated Design Engineer to join our Structures and Geotechnical team on a full-time, 40-hour per week basis, based in Silfield, Wymondham (with operational ties to Norwich). We offer flexibility on working hours, which can be discussed further upon application. This position provides a salary of £54,696 per year and sits within our prominent Structures and Geotechnical sector, focusing on highways and water projects.
In this role, you will become an integral part of Kier’s extensive 750-strong internal consultancy, Kier Design. You will apply your engineering expertise to deliver robust, high-quality design solutions across our diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities in this role typically include:
- Producing detailed engineering designs, calculations, and technical drawings for structures and geotechnical applications.
- Collaborating with project managers, colleagues, and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Providing technical support and guidance to junior team members and multidisciplinary project groups.
- Ensuring all design work aligns with relevant industry codes, environmental regulations, and internal quality standards.
- Participating in design reviews, site visits, and client meetings as required by project lifecycles.
