In this vital role, you will provide advanced clinical nursing care, assessments, treatment planning, and support for individuals dealing with drug and alcohol dependencies. Working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, you will play a key part in delivering evidence-based interventions and improving health outcomes for clients and the local community.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Providing comprehensive clinical assessments and developing individualized care plans for clients
- Administering specialized drug and alcohol treatments and monitoring patient progress
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary medical, nursing, and allied health professionals
- Providing education, support, and harm-minimization strategies to clients and their families
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to relevant healthcare standards and policies
To be successful in this role, you must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and have appropriate endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner or Transitional Nurse Practitioner. A demonstrated background or strong interest in drug and alcohol nursing is essential, along with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
