Skilled Nursing is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to step into a Clinical Nurse Consultant role specializing in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. This exciting short-term contract opportunity is based at a metropolitan hospital within the Hobart Region in Tasmania, running from 29 June 2026 through to 25 September 2026. In this specialized nursing position, you will provide expert clinical care, guidance, and mental health support to mothers, infants, and families during the perinatal period, assessing patient needs, delivering evidence-based interventions, collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, and offering professional clinical leadership in perinatal and infant wellbeing.
Key responsibilities in this role typically include:
- Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments for mothers, infants, and families
- Developing and implementing targeted, evidence-based mental health care plans
- Providing specialized counseling, education, and emotional support throughout the perinatal phase
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary hospital teams to ensure coordinated care
- Offering expert clinical advice, mentorship, and leadership on perinatal and infant mental health practices
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to professional healthcare standards
To be considered for this rewarding temporary placement, applicants must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and possess relevant professional experience or a demonstrated background in mental health, specifically focusing on perinatal and infant care.
As part of this contract, attractive agency rates apply to compensate your expertise. Additionally, to support your relocation and stay in Tasmania, a travel allowance and accommodation are provided for the duration of the assignment.
