Ascension is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse Step Down Traveler for a full-time opportunity located in the Thiensville and Ozaukee County area. As part of the Associate Travel Program within our Step Down department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care, monitoring patients with complex or declining medical needs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.
This position offers schedule flexibility with multiple shifts available, requiring a commitment of 36 to 48 hours per week. As a travel nurse with Ascension, you will be joining a leading healthcare network committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care to our communities. Local and national travel options may be available depending on ongoing facility needs.
Key responsibilities for this role typically include:
- Providing continuous monitoring and specialized nursing care for step-down or intermediate care unit patients.
- Administering medications, managing intravenous lines, and responding promptly to changes in patient vitals or condition.
- Collaborating effectively with physicians, specialists, and other nursing staff to maintain comprehensive patient records and care plans.
- Adhering strictly to hospital protocols, clinical safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure and applicable life support certifications required for acute and step-down care environments.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new hospital facilities, workflows, and electronic health record systems.
The annual compensation for this full-time position is listed at $62,837 per year, with gross pay rates varying based on specific assignment details, hours worked, and travel requirements.
