Key responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Evaluating patients to assess their physical conditions, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential.
- Developing and implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific recovery goals.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, functional training, and modalities to improve strength, mobility, and pain management.
- Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Documenting patient progress accurately and adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
- Educating patients and their families on home exercise programs and safety practices to support continued recovery after discharge.
