Guidehouse is a global professional services firm dedicated to helping transitioning U.S. military service members prepare for new career opportunities through the 2026 DoD SkillBridge Program. Located in New York, NY, this opportunity places interns within consulting segments such as Management Consulting, Power Systems Engineering Consulting, Strategy & Transformation Consulting, and Sustainability Consulting. Travel is required up to 10% of the time, and no security clearance is required for this role.
As a SkillBridge Intern in the Energy Providers sector, you will be embedded on real-world projects, gaining meaningful consulting experience while working alongside experienced professionals. Your responsibilities will vary based on client and project needs, allowing you to develop core competencies in strategy consulting, project management, and team collaboration.
Key responsibilities and learning opportunities include:
- Managing and participating with project teams to lead business interactions and deliver real-time client solutions.
- Identifying business needs, utilizing professional relationships, and communicating core value propositions.
- Preparing complex written presentation materials and developing presentation-quality deliverables for leadership.
- Designing effective solutions to organizational issues and evaluating business processes, systems, and applications.
- Creating strategies and blueprints leveraging machine learning to improve operations and refine processes.
- Serving as a trusted advisor and maintaining effective communication across internal teams, local offices, and client stakeholders.
To qualify for this DoD SkillBridge internship, applicants must meet specific military separation and administrative requirements:
- Be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Be on track to receive an Honorable Discharge.
- Have completed service TAPS/TGPS requirements and an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
- Obtain official command approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program or Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Cohort for 2026.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university program.
- Demonstrate a strong passion and interest in the energy industry, clean energy, regulatory compliance, sustainable resources, or energy resilience and reliability.
- Maintain the ability to work onsite in a Guidehouse or client office location.
Preferred qualifications that enhance your candidacy include prior coursework or experience in the energy sector, familiarity with business transformation or project management, strong oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced team environments.
Guidehouse provides a comprehensive compensation and total rewards package. The annual salary range for this position is $89,000.00 to $148,000.00, with final compensation determined by factors such as skill sets, experience, training, and business needs.
