JM&JS Pty Ltd, a well-established operator within the Canberra hospitality sector known for providing quality dining experiences and exceptional customer service, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis in the Canberra Region, Australian Capital Territory.
In this important role, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial and accounting functions. Your day-to-day duties will naturally involve maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring overall compliance with relevant financial regulations and taxation requirements specific to our business operations.
We are looking for a professional who brings a strong understanding of accounting principles and practical experience within a commercial environment. While a background in hospitality is not strictly mandated, familiarity with the financial nuances of the service or hospitality industry will be considered an advantage. Strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with our management team.
In return, we offer a competitive salary package ranging from AUD $70,000 to $100,000 per annum, with the exact placement within this range determined by your individual qualifications and prior experience.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Managing general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes
- Preparing accurate financial statements and management reports for company leadership
- Assisting with cash flow management, budgeting, and financial planning
- Handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support functions
- Ensuring compliance with statutory tax obligations and reporting standards
- Collaborating with internal teams to support sound financial decision-making
