We are currently seeking a dedicated Agricultural Technician or Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our client’s operations on a part-time basis. Located in the Mornington Peninsula region, our client is a recognised leader in the Australian agricultural sector, specialising in innovative and sustainable farming solutions for the fresh produce industry. With a rich history and a strong focus on research and development, they are at the forefront of advanced horticultural practices and reliable agricultural machinery maintenance.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of diesel-powered machinery and specialized agricultural equipment to ensure minimal downtime during critical farming periods. Reporting directly to the Manager, you will play a vital part in keeping operations running smoothly by applying your mechanical expertise to both preventative maintenance and complex troubleshooting tasks.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Conducting routine mechanical servicing and maintenance on diesel motors, tractors, and agricultural machinery.
- Diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults efficiently using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Performing necessary repairs and replacing worn or damaged parts in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Adhering strictly to workplace health and safety guidelines to maintain a secure working environment for all team members.
To be successful in this role, you should possess relevant trade qualifications as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or equivalent experience within the agricultural or heavy machinery sector. A strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential.
