The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as an Auxiliary Firefighter at the Forrest Beach Station. This casual, flexible opportunity plays a vital role in delivering essential fire prevention, preparedness, and emergency response services to the local community.
As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will work closely with your fellow station members to protect lives, property, and the environment. While specific daily tasks vary depending on community needs and emergency incidents, typical responsibilities for this role include:
- Responding promptly to fires, rescues, and other emergency incidents as dispatched.
- Participating in ongoing training drills, physical conditioning, and educational sessions to maintain operational readiness.
- Engaging with the local community to promote fire safety awareness, prevention strategies, and preparedness programs.
- Maintaining station facilities, firefighting equipment, and apparatus to ensure everything is fully functional and ready for deployment.
- Working effectively as part of a close-knit team under high-pressure environments.
This casual position offers a flexible working arrangement suited for individuals who are community-minded, physically capable of meeting the demands of firefighting duties, and able to respond locally when required.
