The Queensland Department of Education is currently seeking a dedicated and organised Canteen Supervisor to join the school community at James Nash State High School, located in the Tinana South and Fraser Coast region. This part-time, mid-level role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced food service or tuckshop professional to take on a hands-on leadership position within a vibrant school environment.
As the Canteen Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school tuckshop, ensuring that students and staff receive quality service and nutritious food options. This role requires someone who can lead by example, manage day-to-day administrative and practical tasks, and maintain a welcoming and efficient canteen service.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the school canteen, including opening and closing procedures.
- Preparing and serving food and beverages in compliance with relevant health, safety, and school nutrition policies.
- Coordinating and supervising canteen staff and volunteers to ensure smooth daily functioning.
- Handling stock control, inventory management, ordering supplies, and managing cash handling or POS transactions.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic food preparation and service environment.
- Collaborating with school administration to support school community events and initiatives.
