Sysco is seeking a dedicated and reliable professional for a full-time CDL A Delivery Driver position with SYGMA, based in the Danville, Illinois area and serving surrounding locations including Newtown and Fountain County. This opportunity offers a competitive annual salary of $42,184 per year, along with potential eligibility to participate in the company’s incentive plan.
As a CDL A Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, accurate, and timely transportation of goods to our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include operating a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all safety and transportation regulations, loading and unloading products, verifying delivery documentation, and providing excellent customer service during stops.
Key responsibilities and daily duties for this role typically involve:
- Safely operating a Class A commercial vehicle along designated delivery routes.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Unloading and delivering products to customer locations using appropriate equipment and handling techniques.
- Maintaining accurate delivery logs, invoices, and paperwork.
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and updates.
- Adhering strictly to all company safety standards, traffic laws, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A and meet all applicable DOT requirements. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with the physical demands associated with loading, unloading, and transporting heavy freight.
