British India Plympton Pty Ltd is a well-established, full-service licensed Indian restaurant renowned for its authentic Indian cuisine. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences and operate seven days a week, offering lunch, dinner, functions, special events, and takeaway services. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and experienced Chef / Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team at our Plympton location in the West Torrens area of South Australia.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of A$80,000 to A$85,000 per year. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the daily kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation. You will work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver outstanding meals for our dine-in, takeaway, and function guests.
Key responsibilities for the Chef / Cook position include:
- Preparing, seasoning, and cooking authentic Indian dishes in accordance with restaurant recipes and quality standards
- Managing food preparation, cooking, and plating during busy lunch, dinner, and special event service periods
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all food safety and health regulations
- Monitoring inventory levels, handling ingredients properly, and minimizing food waste
- Collaborating effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and timely service operations
- Contributing to menu planning, daily specials, and special function catering as required
