AECOM Australia Pty Ltd is currently seeking a motivated and driven Civil Engineering Intern – Highways to join our team on a full-time basis in City, North Canberra, starting in November 2026. As part of our dynamic transportation team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading professionals and gain hands-on experience in the consulting environment, helping to shape the future of our transport infrastructure.
In this role, you will support the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective highway and transportation projects from concept through to completion. AECOM provides comprehensive engineering services, and as an intern, you will gain valuable insight into how innovative engineering ideas are developed, coordinated, and successfully delivered to our clients.
Key responsibilities and learning opportunities in this position typically include:
- Assisting senior engineers with the planning, design, and coordination of highway and civil infrastructure projects.
- Contributing to the preparation of technical reports, design documentation, and engineering drawings.
- Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to solve complex transportation challenges.
- Leveraging local knowledge and global capabilities to support project delivery and client objectives.
- Participating in site visits, meetings, and professional development activities as part of the internship program.
