Gregory is seeking a reliable and dedicated Class 1 Driver for Collections & Delivery to join our Pallet Networks team based in Cannards Grave, Shepton Mallet. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary between £39,000 and £40,000 per year.
As a Class 1 Driver, you will play a crucial role in our transport operations, ensuring that all goods are transported safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The working schedule is Monday to Friday, and includes a Saturday rota that normally works out at approximately 1 Saturday in 10. Saturday shifts are paid at £20.00 per hour, operating on a job-and-knock basis with a guaranteed minimum of 4 hours pay.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Operating a curtain side vehicle to complete multi-drop palletised deliveries and collections around the South West.
- Ensuring all goods and loads are loaded, checked, and secured legally and safely prior to transit.
- Completing all necessary daily vehicle walk-around checks and reporting any defects in line with company procedures.
- Maintaining accurate paperwork and communicating effectively with the transport team and customers.
- Adhering strictly to all relevant driving regulations, tachograph laws, and health and safety guidelines.
