Key responsibilities typically include:
- Assessing patients’ nutritional needs and health status upon admission and throughout their stay
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized dietary and nutrition care plans
- Instructing patients and their families on healthy eating habits and disease management through nutrition
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and speech therapists
- Adapting meal plans to accommodate medical restrictions, personal preferences, and clinical progress
