Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a dedicated professional for a part-time Clinical Nurse position at the Lotus Glen Health Service – Mareeba, located in the Manoora and Cairns area. In this role, you will be part of the Lotus Glen Health Service (LGHS), which operates as a nurse-led primary health service. LGHS provides essential healthcare services to individuals located at the Lotus Glen Correctional Centre (LGCC) and the Lotus Glen Open Custody Farm, a secure facility with a capacity to house approximately 976 prisoners.
As a Clinical Nurse within this unique correctional primary health environment, typical responsibilities may include:
- Delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care and clinical assessments
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to manage acute and chronic health conditions
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines and protocols
- Promoting health education, harm minimization, and wellness initiatives among patients
- Maintaining accurate, confidential, and timely clinical documentation and health records
- Adhering strictly to safety, security, and professional standards within a custodial setting
