About this job

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. As we leverage our experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink—the world’s largest satellite constellation and most advanced broadband internet system—we are seeking a dedicated CMM Programmer to join our Starlink Aviation team onsite in Woodinville, WA.

In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the highest standards of precision and quality for our advanced hardware. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Selecting and utilizing standard gauges to ensure quality while inspecting feature tolerances with the required accuracy.
  • Setting up Romer ARMs or CMMs to achieve desired inspections.
  • Identifying engineering and design GD&T issues and errors that create ambiguity in the manufacturing and inspection process.
  • Working closely with the team to apply process improvements, build awareness of quality policies and procedures, and support company goals.
  • Understanding GD&T requirements as applied to engineering drawings and drawing notes, while spotting interpretation issues and helping others exceed job expectations.

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following basic qualifications:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of CMM inspection and operations experience.

Preferred skills and experience include 7+ years of CMM experience with programming on multi-sensing CMMs, the ability to assist with designing and developing quality gauging, a strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards, and extensive experience reading and interpreting drawing criteria and GD&T notes.

Please note that this is an onsite position in Woodinville, WA. Candidates must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed, and must be able to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted, standing, bending, and working around potential noise distractions. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicants must meet specific ITAR status requirements.

Compensation for this role is structured across multiple levels with hourly pay ranges as follows: Level 1 ($32.00 – $40.00/hour), Level 2 ($36.00 – $45.00/hour), and Level 3 ($40.00 – $50.00/hour). Actual placement and base salary are determined on a case-by-case basis based on skills, education, and experience. Total rewards may also include long-term incentives, discretionary bonuses, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) access, paid time off, and other perks.

SpaceX is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
