CPB Contractors, the CIMIC Group’s premier construction company and a leading international contractor, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager – Pre Contracts to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis, located in the vibrant Perth CBD.
As a Commercial Manager – Pre Contracts, you will play a critical role in the tender and bidding phases of major infrastructure and construction projects. Combining the legacy and expertise of Leighton Contractors and Thiess, CPB Contractors delivers landmark projects across roads, rail, tunnelling, defence, and building sectors. In this role, you will help us continue that tradition by managing commercial strategies, risk assessments, and financial planning during the pre-contracts phase.
Key responsibilities for this position typically include:
- Leading the commercial and financial evaluation of major tender and pre-construction proposals.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating commercial risks associated with prospective contracts and bids.
- Collaborating closely with estimating, engineering, and legal teams to develop competitive and robust tender submissions.
- Negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients, joint venture partners, and key subcontractors.
- Ensuring compliance with company governance, financial policies, and industry standards throughout the pre-contracts process.
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong background in commercial management within the construction or engineering sector, with a proven track record of managing pre-contracts and tender processes for large-scale projects. Your ability to analyse complex financial data, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive strategic outcomes will be essential.
