Halfords, the UK’s largest automotive service, maintenance, and repair business, is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Vehicle Tyre Fitter to join the team as a Commercial Tyre Technician – Mobile based in Rettendon Common, Chelmsford. This is a full-time, field-based opportunity offering a fantastic earning potential with an OTE of £40,000 to £60,000 per year.
In this dynamic mobile role, you will be dispatched to support commercial customers directly, ensuring their vehicles remain safe and operational. To help you succeed, you will be provided with a fully equipped company van, professional tools, and all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE). The standard working schedule is Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00, with Saturday work from 08:00 to 12:00, along with opportunities for overtime and participation in call-out rotas.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will naturally involve:
- Carrying out mobile fitting, repair, and replacement of commercial vehicle tyres to the highest safety standards
- Responding promptly to call-outs and attending to roadside or on-site breakdowns
- Conducting thorough tyre inspections, maintenance, and pressure checks
- Maintaining accurate records of completed work and communicating effectively with customers and the central team
- Adhering strictly to health and safety guidelines while operating mobile equipment
We are looking for dedicated candidates who possess proven experience as a commercial tyre fitter and hold a valid UK driving licence. You should be comfortable working independently in a mobile capacity, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
The total earnings potential of £40,000 to £60,000 is comprised of a competitive base salary, an uncapped bonus scheme, overtime earnings, and attractive call-out rates.
