Civic Pub in Braddon, North Canberra, is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis, commencing in August 2026. This position offers a competitive salary range of A$79,000 to A$85,000 per year.
We are looking for applicants who are professional, reliable, and bring a positive attitude to the workplace, along with a genuine passion for food and culinary excellence. As a valued member of our kitchen brigade, you will play an important role in supporting daily food operations and maintaining our high standards.
Your day-to-day responsibilities in this role will include and are not limited to the following:
- Ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of all menu items
- Preparing high-quality dishes consistently in line with kitchen standards
- Collaborating effectively with fellow kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to maintain a smooth service
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assisting senior kitchen staff with inventory management, stock rotation, and daily prep work as required
