C.I HENGSTBERGER & J STOCKDALE operates an established small-to-medium-sized commercial dairy farm located near Leongatha in South Gippsland / Mardan, Victoria, managing a herd of more than 500 cattle. We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Dairy Cattle Farmer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
In this hands-on role, the successful applicant will plan, organise, and coordinate daily dairy operations while remaining actively involved in milk production, herd management, and general farm activities. You will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of animal welfare, operational efficiency, and overall farm productivity.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Participating in daily milking operations and ensuring adherence to strict hygiene and quality standards
- Assisting with comprehensive herd management, including health monitoring, breeding, and feeding programs
- Executing general farm maintenance tasks and supporting pasture management activities
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment safely and effectively
- Collaborating with management to plan and streamline daily agricultural workflows
To be successful in this role, you should possess practical experience in dairy farming, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for working with livestock. Familiarity with modern dairy systems and general farm machinery is essential. You must be dependable, capable of working autonomously as well as part of a small team, and comfortable handling the physical demands of rural farm work.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering an annual salary of A$75,000 to A$80,000 per year, commensurate with your experience.
