The Risk Intelligence team is responsible for keeping the platform secure while minimizing friction for legitimate customers. By leveraging data and technology to capture insights and identify opportunities, this team drives scalable solutions to address the latest fraudulent modus operandi, ensuring a smooth and trusted experience for users worldwide.
As a Data Scientist in Risk, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our platform. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Owning the loss metrics for your assigned line of business or region, and designing logical, scalable solutions to mitigate fraud-causing modus operandi.
- Owning new risk solutions and related experimentation, including comprehensive plan creation, roll-out, and continuous monitoring.
- Partnering closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, product management, and other data teams to ensure data quality across critical pipelines and establish robust triage processes.
- Developing and tracking metrics and reporting functions to measure and monitor risk products effectively.
- Proactively communicating insights and driving impactful projects aligned with overarching team goals.
- Identifying new opportunities to build innovative solutions that tackle risk challenges.
We are looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications to the role:
- Three or more years of experience in a risk-focused role, such as product analytics, business analytics, business operations, or data science.
- An educational background in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (such as Matlab or Python) or statistical languages (such as SQL, SAS, or R).
- Past experience working within a product or technology company serving millions of customers across multiple platforms and countries.
- Preferred skills include SQL mastery, expertise in experimentation and A/B testing, statistical modeling, and a strong passion for transforming raw data into actionable insights.
