Glencore Coal is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Dragline Operator to join the team at the Rolleston Open Cut mine. Located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine known for its long life of mine, low operating costs, and bright outlook. Since 2005, the site has grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment.
As a Dragline Operator, you will play an essential role in the daily operations of the surface mine. You will be part of a hands-on, collaborative team that works closely together to achieve operational goals while maintaining a strong focus on safety, flexibility, and teamwork. Glencore Coal is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the ongoing skill development of every individual on the mine site.
Key responsibilities for this full-time role typically include:
- Operating the dragline safely and efficiently to uncover coal seams and move overburden in accordance with mine production plans.
- Conducting thorough pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and reporting any mechanical or operational issues promptly.
- Adhering strictly to all site safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and operational procedures.
- Communicating effectively with pit supervisors, engineers, and other equipment operators to ensure smooth and coordinated workflow.
- Participating actively in team meetings, safety toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
