HorizonOne Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated professional for a part-time EL1 Development Program Manager position within the Office of Development Assistance (ODA), located in Barton, South Canberra. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) plays a vital role in promoting and protecting Australia’s international interests to support our security and prosperity globally. DFAT works closely with international partners and other countries to tackle complex global challenges, increase trade and investment opportunities, protect international rules, keep our region stable, and provide essential support to Australians overseas through a vast network of over 120 embassies, high commissions, consulates, and representative offices spanning the globe.
As an EL1 Development Program Manager, you will play a key leadership and coordination role within this dynamic environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will typically involve managing program lifecycles, overseeing development assistance initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to strategic policy implementation in line with Australia’s foreign and development objectives.
Key responsibilities for this role generally include:
- Managing and delivering complex development assistance programs and projects
- Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with international partners, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Providing high-level strategic advice, policy input, and briefing materials on development issues
- Monitoring program performance, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to reporting and governance frameworks
- Guiding and mentoring team members to foster a high-performance, inclusive work culture
