Gold Fields is seeking an experienced Underground Production Engineer to join the team on a full-time basis at the Granny Smith Gold Mine, located in the Cosmo Newbery and Laverton area. This opportunity features an 8/6 FIFO roster departing from Perth and supports an excellent Life of Mine of 10 years plus.
As a key member of a diverse and experienced Underground Mining team, you will report directly to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of underground mining aspects, focusing heavily on the development and implementation of production plans designed to meet short- to medium-term operational targets safely and efficiently.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in underground mining engineering and a solid understanding of production planning and scheduling. Collaboration and effective communication will be essential as you work alongside other technical services professionals, operators, and leadership to optimize mine performance.
Key responsibilities and duties for the Production Engineer typically include:
- Developing and executing short- and medium-term underground production plans.
- Collaborating with operational teams to ensure plan alignment and schedule adherence.
- Monitoring daily production metrics and identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
- Contributing to quality control, grade control integration, and underground mine design processes.
- Promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture in compliance with site and industry standards.
- Assisting with reporting, data analysis, and technical evaluations as required by the engineering department.
