The Department of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC is currently seeking a qualified faculty candidate to join the Division of Epilepsy as an epileptologist. Based in the Pittsburgh area with a location in Sewickley, Allegheny County, this position offers an annual salary of $76,455.
In this role, the successful candidate will serve with a primary focus on the surgical epilepsy program. You will operate under the leadership of Dr. Page B. Pennell, Chair of Neurology, and Dr. Vijayalakshmi Rajasekaran, Division Chief of Epilepsy. Additionally, you will work in close partnership with world-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Jorge A. González-Martínez, contributing to advanced patient care and clinical initiatives within a premier academic medical environment.
Key responsibilities and professional expectations for this position typically include:
- Providing specialized clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and comprehensive care for patients with complex epilepsy
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgery and neurology specialists, to support the surgical epilepsy program
- Participating in clinical research, teaching, and academic activities associated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC
- Maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and documentation in accordance with institutional guidelines
