About this job

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in creating a better work-life balance while making a genuine positive impact on the lives of children and young people. We are currently seeking a dedicated Family Liaison Officer and Attendance Lead to join our team at Underley Garden School, located in the beautiful area near Grange-Over-Sands and Kirkby Lonsdale (LA6 2DZ). This is a permanent, term-time-only position offering 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The annual salary is £32,500 (not pro rata), and a travel allowance is also included to support your commute.

As our Family Liaison Officer and Attendance Lead, you will serve as the crucial connection between home and school. In this vital role, you will work closely with families, students, and internal staff to champion positive attendance outcomes and build strong, collaborative relationships with parents and carers. Your day-to-day focus will involve supporting student engagement, addressing barriers to attendance, and providing effective communication and pastoral support to families navigating their educational journey with us.

To be successful in this role, applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and proactive professional who is passionate about pupil welfare and community engagement. Key attributes and daily responsibilities typically include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact between families and the school community
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and promoting whole-school attendance and punctuality
  • Developing and implementing strategies to reduce absenteeism and address root causes of absence
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, teachers, and senior leadership
  • Providing guidance, advice, and a supportive listening ear to parents and carers
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing documentation related to attendance and family engagement

If you are dedicated to supporting young people and their families to achieve their full potential within a supportive educational environment, we welcome your application. Please note that the planned start date for this role is September 2026. We look forward to receiving applications from committed professionals ready to make a meaningful difference.
