About this job
At Outcomes First Group, we believe in creating a better work-life balance while making a real difference in the lives of children and young people. We are currently seeking a dedicated Family Liaison Officer and Attendance Lead to join our team at Underley Garden School, located near Canal Foot in Ulverston (LA6 2DZ). This is a permanent, term-time-only opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a starting salary of £32,500 per annum (not pro rata) along with a travel allowance.
Please note that this position is open to UK applicants only, and sponsorship is not available. If you are passionate about fostering positive relationships between educational settings and families, and want to support student attendance and engagement, this role offers a rewarding path within a supportive environment.
As our Family Liaison Officer and Attendance Lead, you will act as the key connection between home and school, bridging communication and supporting families to ensure positive outcomes for our students. Your day-to-day focus will naturally involve partnering with parents and carers, monitoring and promoting student attendance, and collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues to address any barriers to learning and engagement.
Core responsibilities typically associated with this role include:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for families, building trusting and collaborative relationships between home and school.
- Monitoring daily student attendance, identifying patterns of absence, and implementing proactive strategies to improve attendance rates.
- Working closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to support families facing barriers to regular school attendance.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation regarding family communications, attendance data, and action plans in line with school policies.
- Supporting student transitions, welfare initiatives, and engagement activities across the school community.
If you are looking for a fulfilling term-time role that allows you to champion student attendance and family engagement within a dedicated team, we welcome your application for a September 2026 start.
